Ariel is a teacher from the Philippines and is working as an Early Childhood Teacher at Simply Sunshine Long day care in Moranbah. Arial and his family (wife and son) arrived in Moranbah on February 4 2024 after a long travel from Philippines to Brisbane with a lovely four day stop over in Noosa where they spent some time with family before boarding their final flight to Moranbah.

When they got off the plane in Moranbah they were very excited to see their new home town. Ariel’s first impression of Moranbah was that it was a different kind of hot to back in the Philippines, dry not humid, which was not too bad.

Before arriving he had spent some time researching Moranbah and the surrounding areas and they were very excited to get here and start exploring. They were picked up at the airport by Amanda (the Centre Manager of Simply Sunshine) and taken on a tour of the town and then to their new home. Ariel, his wife and their son were amazed at their new home, they did not expect it to be furnished and set up so nicely, waiting for them. They were even more excited to see the fridge and pantry stocked, another thing they didn’t have to think about.

His wife and son are settling in very nicely with his wife starting a job at Coles and his son making friends at his new school and doing very well academically.

Ariel enjoys playing Ukelele and drums and was in a drum band and Ukelele ensemble back in the Philippines. He and his family enjoy attending the markets that are on once a month and other community events that happen around town. They also recently went camping for the first time and cant wait to go again soon.

Ariel says the coffee at La Crema is the best in town and enjoys a nice meal at the Moranbah Workers club.
