Melissa Westcott

CLA Role: Board Member

Melissa is a dedicated advocate for livability and sustainability in Moranbah and Isaac, with a strong passion for supporting small business owners and the local community.

Melissa is a passionate small business owner and community advocate in ensuring the livability of our communities for generations to come in Isaac and Central Queensland. Childcare has always been a passion of hers, as she knows how important it was for her young family when first having children in a town away from any family support.

Melissa loves big-picture thinking and finding solutions outside of the box that may impact change.

Her career highlights include her role as Chair of Local Buying Foundations across QLD, NSW, SA and WA as well as the launch of the National Indigenous Business Development Program Trading Tracks that the LBF team have rolled out over the last two years. And of course her own Small Businesses which have been built from the ground up in Moranbah which always focus on customers and staff through great product development.

Our childcare service became our family and I have always wanted to ensure this for other families so they feel safe and secure in their childcare. For me CLA is about ensuring that our region takes a strategic approach to work collaboratively across all service providers to be recognised as an essential industry in our community.”
